Information Collection and Use
General
The OSBBC collects personal information when you register as a member, when you participate as a tour host or workshop host, when you participate in a seminar or workshop, and through email and direct mail surveys.
When you register as a member we ask for information such as your name, email address, home address, phone numbers, and your personal or professional interest in straw bale construction and your plans to build using straw bale if any.
The OSBBC uses information for the following general purposes: to maintain your membership in good standing, to provide information about OSBBC events and other events which may be of interest, to provide a news letter, and to conduct surveys for research purposes to help us to better meet the needs of the straw bale building community.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
The OSBBC does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people, associations, or companies except under the following circumstances:
We provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with the OSBBC under confidentiality agreements. These partners may use your personal information to help the OSBBC to communicate with you about offers from the OSBBC. However, these partners do not have any independent right to share this information or to use it for any purpose other than those involving the OSBBC.
We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or as otherwise required by law.
Confidentiality and Security
We limit access to personal information about you to board and committee members who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide services to you or in order to do their jobs. We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to protect personal information about you.
