Membership in the Ontario Straw Bale Building Coalition has many benefits:
- free admission to the Annual Tour of Straw Bale Homes and Buildings
- reduced rates for selected OSBBC workshops
- reduced rate for The Building Official’s Info-Package
- inclusion in a volunteer on-call list
- financial support for testing and code-acceptance of bale building
- helps the organization promote straw bale building to building officials, the general public, and children through displays, speaking engagements, the web, and a toll-free number for inquiries
Membership Levels
All memberships please add 5% GST
Straw Bale Building Owner FREE
Straw bale building owners are voting (one vote) members who receive all of the benefits of an individual or family membership. If you live in a straw bale building in Ontario and add your building to our registry complete with a picture, your membership fee is waived. Tour participants (past and present) also receive a free membership in exchange for opening up their home to tours.
Individual $20 per year
Individual members are voting (one vote) members of the OSBBC.
Family $30 per year
Family members are voting (one vote) members of the OSBBC.
Non-profit educational organization $50 per year
Non-profit educational organizations are voting (one vote) members of the OSBBC who receive regular benefits plus a listing in the Non-Profit Organization directory on the web site.
Business $200 per year
Business members are voting (one vote) members of the OSBBC who receive all of the above benefits plus a listing in the Business Directory on the OSBBC website. Business members will also be offered free or discounted professional development sessions throughout the year and at the Annual General Meeting.
Corporate $750 per year
Corporate sponsors are voting (one vote) members of the OSBBC who receive all of the benefits of a Business membership plus a small linked logo on a sidebar throughout the web site. Corporate members may display the OSBBC logo on their website as well as the text “A proud sponsor of the Ontario Straw Bale Building Coalition.”
